Full gut renovation of a historic single shotgun home in the Irish Channel neighborhood of New Orleans, including a rear addition. The top-down refurbishment will create a new main entry at the midpoint of the house, opening into a large central living/dining/kitchen space flanked on either end by a bedroom suite. This configuration maximizes square footage within the narrow footprint by reducing the need for long corridors. The project will restore the home’s crumbling exterior to its historic form while providing a bright and modern interior living space. A new patio provides intimate outdoor seating and opens onto a lawn that is shared with the adjacent house. That double shotgun is slated to be renovated in Phase 2. Anticipated Phase 1 completion end of 2021.
